The Girls Rock! Awards Event has been cancelled, but we still need your support!

It is with regret and disappointment that we have cancelled the Girls Rock! Awards due to the health risks posed by COVID-19. As you are aware, health concerns hit much closer to home this week. The consequences of cancelling weigh heavily on us. However, the consequences of not cancelling felt much more dire. It is a decision we did not take lightly.

We plan to recognize each honoree with an award and make a video recording of their acceptance speeches. Our goal is to make these available online for the public as soon as possible.

It is more important now than ever.  Since this is Hardy Girls Healthy Women's most important fundraising event to support our programs I am asking if you would still make a dionation to help mitigate the financial impact of this decision. This is our 2nd year volunteering with a great organization, Hardy Girls Healthy Women and we hope you will join us to support their important work!
Hardy Girls Healthy Women takes girls seriously and puts the power in their hands to challenge a society that ignores their brilliance.

• What? Girls Rock! Awards is an annual event honoring amazing girls from around Maine who are leaders in community organizing, entrepreneurship, health advocacy, STEM, athletics, and challenging adversity.
• Why? The funds raised will support Hardy Girls Healthy Women's programming for girls, giving them opportunities to explore new areas of interest, to challenge themselves by learning new skills, and to build alliances with other girls while learning from women who are breaking free of stereotypes. Programs focus on the social and political landscape that girls grow in, and women live through. Girls' and women's positions will not improve until those social and political landscapes are improved.

Hardy Girls' biggest fundraiser is the annual Girls* Rock! Awards. This is one awesome night of listening to girls talk about leaping over stereotypes, ignoring the haters and smashing the patriarchy. We honor six girls* who are challenging society and making changes around our state. Hardy Girls Healthy Women takes girls seriously and puts the power in their hands to challenge a society that ignores their brilliance.
